Welcome back to the You Are My Destiny Radio Show, with your hosts Luca and Claudette. Today is a special one — and an emotional one — because we have a guest whose name has been woven through every chapter of this story: Claes Cornelius.
If you know the modern history of music that crossed borders, you know Claes. As co-founder of Mega Records in Copenhagen, he was the man who championed Ace of Base and helped carry Scandinavian pop to the world. He's the ear behind D-A-D, the Danish rock band he helped discover — the band that broke out internationally with "Sleeping My Day Away," their biggest single outside Denmark and a two-week resident on the UK top 100. Careers, catalogs, whole sounds — Claes has had a hand in shaping them.
But for us, this goes deeper. Luca first met Claes in 1995, and that meeting changed the course of a life — a friendship and a mentorship that eventually brought Claes into the Zanna Records family. And today we get to share something extraordinary: back in February of 2025, Claes sent a series of emails with a prediction. He told us to take "You Are My Destiny" to the radio stations. He forecast it would be a hit. On today's show, we talk about that forecast — and everything that's happened since.
We also want to say, with full hearts: it is a gift to have Claes here at all. He spent nearly two months in the hospital, and he is home, he is recovering, and he is back on the mic with us today.
